Loaded potato soup

4 large potatoes, diced

8 ounces bacon, cooked and diced

1 medium onion, diced

2 garlic cloves, diced

2 1/2 cups whole milk

4 cups chicken broth

2 cups mild or sharp shredded cheese

1 cup sour cream

Salt and pepper to taste

In a crock pot, combine potatoes, bacon, onion, garlic, milk and chicken broth. Cook on low for six hours or high for three hours. About 30 minutes before serving, add cheese, sour cream, and salt and pepper to taste. For a thicker soup, add 1 cup of potato flakes or 3 tablespoons of corn starch.
