Snowstorm Elsa, we are not friends. In fact, I was in full-force spring mode.
After the 65-degree weather just a week earlier, I was really geared up thinking we might get an early spring. I would have been OK with 1 inch of snow, but not the 15 that were dumped on us. I guess I don’t actually know how much we ended up with. Because it blew around so much, I’m not even sure we could’ve measured it.
All of the calves were definitely on the same page as me. Most of them couldn’t even get out of their hutches to eat, so I had to shovel them each a path. They guzzled down their bottle and headed right back into their hutches. I’m quite sure they were as unimpressed as me by the wind blowing in all directions and snow hitting our faces.
Yes, this is a blog devoted to my whining and complaining about the late-season snowstorm because I am cold and ready for spring. So, please, Mother Nature, no more surprise snowstorms, and bring us a little hope of spring.
