I have mentioned a time or two that fall is my favorite time of year, and I love all the things that go with it. The coolness in the air, the hint of color poking through on the trees, apples, pumpkins, corn silage, the list goes on.
My favorite little apple tree’s branches are touching the ground just loaded with bright red apples waiting to be turned into pies, breads, sauce and topped with caramel. The cows are enjoying their last few weeks of pasture time, as it’s more enjoyable with cooler temps. The craziness of summer wrapping up and school routines are in full force, and my farm-loving freshman is not a fan. But it does help he is on the football team, which makes school a little less dreadful.
It seems like in a blink of an eye, summer has faded, and we transition into the most spectacular season of all — fall. Harvest is right around the corner, and the fruits of our summer labor will be gathered and stored for winter. Best wishes to all for a safe and bountiful harvest season!
