Banana cake

3/4 cup butter

1 1/2 cups sugar

2 eggs

1 cup mashed bananas

2 cups flour, sifted

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup buttermilk

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 cup pecans

1 cup shredded coconut

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs; beat together. Add bananas. Add flour, soda and salt, alternating with buttermilk and vanilla. Beat well. Stir in nuts. Grease a 9- by 13-inch pan. Sprinkle batter with coconut. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
