Karson Weber

17 years old

Twelfth grade

When do you do chores? I do chores mostly in the afternoon and on the weekends. I have a work release for school, so I can help more on the farm.

What is your favorite and least favorite chore? I like climbing silos, and my least favorite would be feeding the baby calves.

What project do you enjoy helping your parents with on the farm? I like chopping hay, filling silos and that type of stuff — anything where I get to drive a tractor.

Tell us a fun memory you have of living on the farm. I like what farming has taught me. I like the hands-on learning we get to do on the farm and the life lessons you can learn.

What is your favorite animal on your farm? I don’t have a favorite animal, but I like all of our dairy cows. I like taking care of them.

What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to go to college for agriculture and power distribution so I can be a mechanic and work on tractors.

If you had a farm, describe what it would look like. It would be pretty similar to this farm. It would be a nice little dairy farm with a couple of silos and not a ton of tractors; we’d keep things pretty simple.

What is your favorite game to play on the farm? I don’t play much for games now; I like the work we get to do.

What is your favorite meal that your mom or dad makes? There isn’t much I don’t like to eat, but my favorite is when we fire up the grill.

What is your favorite thing to do off the farm with your family? I like it when we have a bonfire and can sit outside and enjoy it.

What do you like to do during your free time? I like pulling tractors and showing cattle. I pull the true farm classes with my tractor. I have an International 1086. I started doing that three or four years ago. My dad, grandpa and I get to work on the tractor together.

Are you involved in activities? What is your favorite and why? I’m involved in FFA. I like some of the cool trips you get to go on, all the stuff you can see and the people you get to meet. My favorite trip we’ve taken so far was to World Dairy Expo.

Hope Weber

14 years old

Ninth grade

When do you do chores? I do chores morning and night on the weekends.

What is your favorite and least favorite chore? My favorite chore is feeding calves, and my least favorite is probably scraping stalls.

What project do you enjoy helping your parents with on the farm? I just like helping milk and feeding the baby calves.

Tell us a fun memory you have of living on the farm. When I was little, I used to help a lot. I enjoyed spending time working with my family.

What is your favorite animal on your farm? I like all the cows. I’ve been around them for a long time, and I just like being with them.

What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be a cosmetologist.

If you had a farm, describe what it would look like. It would have a whole bunch of cows, horses, chickens and maybe some goats.

What is your favorite game to play on the farm? I like it when we play ghost in the graveyard.

What is your favorite meal that your mom or dad makes? When we’re all together, we like to have French toast with bacon and eggs for breakfast. That’s my favorite meal.

What is your favorite thing to do off the farm with your family? I like it when we watch movies together.

What do you like to do during your free time? I like to play sports and hang out with my friends and family.

Are you involved in activities? What is your favorite and why? I play volleyball and basketball and am part of FFA and Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. My favorite sport is basketball, and I like FFA because we get to be involved with agriculture.

Harper Weber

10 years old

Fifth grade

When do you do chores? I do chores after school.

What is your favorite and least favorite chore? My favorite chore is feeding the cows, and my least favorite is scraping the walk.

What project do you enjoy helping your parents with on the farm? I like feeding the babies. They have a lot of spots, and they sometimes have a spot shaped like a heart on their forehead.

Tell us a fun memory you have of living on the farm. There was this time we had a stock tank that we filled up with water, and we got to swim around in it.

What is your favorite animal on your farm? I like all the cows. I don’t have a favorite one, but I really like all the spots they have.

What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be a singer.

If you had a farm, describe what it would look like. It would have horses, cows and cats, probably like 10 cats.

What is your favorite game to play on the farm? I like it when we play hide-and-seek tag in the dark.

What is your favorite meal that your mom or dad makes? Tater tot casserole.

What is your favorite thing to do off the farm with your family? I like it when we watch movies together. We get popcorn and snacks. My favorite movie is “Little House on the Prairie.”

What do you like to do during your free time? During my free time, I like to sleep.

Third grade

When do you do chores? I do chores in the morning and at night.

What is your favorite and least favorite chore? My favorite chore is scraping the stalls; my least favorite is feeding the babies.

What project do you enjoy helping your parents with on the farm? I like it when we get to paint the barn and when I get to help with bagging.

Tell us a fun memory you have of living on the farm. One time, when it was really hot, my mom filled buckets with very cold water and had Harper and me stand outside. Then, she would dump the water on us.

What is your favorite animal on your farm? My favorite animals are the cows because they produce milk, and milk makes you stronger.

What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be a farmer.

If you had a farm, describe what it would look like. My farm would be big. It would have cows and chickens on it. It would be like this barn with our tie stalls.

What is your favorite game to play on the farm? I like hide and seek.

What is your favorite meal that your mom or dad makes? My favorite meal is this taco salad thing. You have a taco shell, and then you cut up lettuce and pickles, and I put a lot of taco meat on it.

What is your favorite thing to do off the farm with your family? I like to go to tractor pulls.

What do you like to do during your free time? I like riding in the Ranger around the farm.

When do you do chores? At night.

What is your favorite and least favorite chore? My favorite is picking up the cats. I have no least favorite.

What project do you enjoy helping your parents with on the farm? Ride with Dad in the tractor.

Tell us a fun memory you have of living on the farm. Riding with Grandpa in the chopper.
