Fifth grade
When do you do chores, and what chores do you do? I do house chores, feed grain and sometimes milk to the calves, and help with the puppies. We home-school, and we do calf chores after school work.
What is your favorite and least favorite chore? My favorite chore is helping with the puppies because it is fun. My least favorite chore is feeding bottle calves in the winter because my toes freeze.
Do you have a favorite animal on your farm? My dog, Jackson, is my favorite because he’s my dog. His dad is our other dog, Jack, so he is named Jack’s son, or Jackson. We have black lab dogs, and we sell puppies.
What is your favorite subject in school? Reading and math. Reading is easy, and it is also interesting.
Tell us about something you have recently learned in school. Adverbs.
What do you want to be when you grow up? A mom or a farmer.
What is your favorite dairy treat? Butter.
What do you like to do on the farm during the winter? Go sledding. We have a hill out back that my dad piles snow on, and we sled on an old tractor tube wrapped in silage plastic. It goes really fast.
Timmy Gaetzke

Fourth grade
When do you do chores, and what chores do you do? I do chores in the morning. I feed scraps to the chickens and give them bedding. Then, I do school.
What is your favorite and least favorite chore? My favorite chore is feeding the chickens their grain and water because I like to pet them and watch them eat. My least favorite chore is feeding them scraps, but I know they like it and then food doesn’t go to waste.
Do you have a favorite animal on your farm? The chickens. We have six chickens, and they are all different breeds. Three of them are black, and the other three have a lot of colors.
What is your favorite subject in school? Science because I like animals, and zoology has science in it.
Tell us about something you have recently learned in school. How to classify different animal species.
What do you want to be when you grow up? A zoologist.
What is your favorite dairy treat? Milk.
What do you like to do on the farm during the winter? Crunch big ice chunks with rocks.
Addy Gaetzke

Second grade
When do you do chores, and what chores do you do? Clean the kitchen and clear the table. I do this after we eat.
What is your favorite and least favorite chore? My favorite chore is cleaning the kitchen unless my little brother James dumps all his blocks out because we have about a hundred blocks. My least favorite chore is washing the floor because sometimes everyone runs across it.
Do you have a favorite animal on your farm? Our cows. I just like them. They are Holsteins.
What is your favorite subject in school? Bible study because there is no bookwork with it and we learn songs and listen to stories. I also like art.
Tell us about something you have recently learned in school. We learned about Moses and the promised land.
What do you want to be when you grow up? A mama and maybe a farmer.
What is your favorite dairy treat? Chocolate ice cream.
What do you like to do on the farm during the winter? Go sledding.

When do you do chores, and what chores do you do? I clean the living room and clean the table at breakfast time.
What is your favorite and least favorite chore? My favorite chore is feeding the calves. I do not have a least favorite chore.
Do you have a favorite animal on your farm? On our farm, my favorite animals are the cows, but horses are my favorite animal.
What is your favorite subject in school? Bible study because we listen to stories and learn songs.
Tell us about something you have recently learned in school. We learned about Joseph.
What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to live on a ranch with horses. I would also have cows, and they would have calves. There would be chickens and pigs too.
What is your favorite dairy treat? Ice cream.
What do you like to do on the farm during the winter? Play with the puppies.
James Gaetzke

When do you do chores, and what chores do you do? I help Dad fix things in the shop, and I clean the dust with the air compressor.
What is your favorite and least favorite chore? My favorite chore is helping Dad. My least favorite is schoolwork.
Do you have a favorite animal on your farm? My favorite is a chicken named Bathtub.
What is your favorite subject in school? Drawing pictures and cutting with scissors.
Tell us about something you have recently learned in school. I drew a turkey picture.
What do you want to be when you grow up? A doctor.
What is your favorite dairy treat? Ice cream and chocolate milk.
What do you like to do on the farm during the winter? Ride bikes.

What is your favorite and least favorite chore? My favorite thing is playing with my big brother.

What do you want to be when you grow up? A mommy. I have a lot of baby dolls already.
