How does your chapter volunteer in the community throughout the year? Our chapter collects products for the food shelf during National FFA Week. The chapter also donates any extra fruit after fruit sales to the food shelf. We are planning a few activities at the local nursing homes this spring.

What fundraisers does your chapter do throughout the year? The Fillmore Central FFA Chapter has two major fundraisers. During harvest time, we send out members with grain carts to ask farmers for donations of corn to sell at Harmony Agri Services Inc. Members are also going around the block asking for donations. During November, members sell fruit and butter braids. This is our most successful fundraiser. We use these funds to support us going to contests, state convention, the National FFA Convention & Expo, and chapter events.

What are the biggest events of the year? The National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana, strikes interest in a lot of our members. The state convention is where our qualifying Career Development Event and Leadership Development Event teams compete.

What is unique about your chapter? In our school, 50% of the student body is active in FFA in some way. Our members have a diverse range of Supervised Agricultural Experience projects and activities within the school.

When was your chapter founded and how has it evolved? After recently cleaning our FFA office, we found that the Harmony FFA Chapter was founded in 1938. Harmony merged with Preston/Fountain in 1994 to form Fillmore Central.
