Another school has come to an end for us; now begins a new a journey — high school. I’m not sure I even know how to comprehend the term “high school.” I know it’s cliche, but it seems as though I was just dropping him off at 4k. I remember it very clearly, and it seems like yesterday. I remember thinking how long it seemed that he would move on to middle school, and here we are, approaching high school.
As I sat in the eighth grade promotion ceremony, I looked around the room filled with bright, young students and their families. A lot of them I’ve watched grow since 4k, and now, they are becoming high schoolers. Most of them seemed excited, and maybe for some a little frightened. High school is a whole new journey unlike anything they’ve been through. But I have full confidence in our district and community to offer each and every one of them the next four years filled with opportunity. And for my own son, I couldn’t be more honored to watch him grow and mature into a young adult.
I wish everyone a happy and safe summer vacation!
