2 cups granulated sugar
4 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 12-ounce bag semi-sweet
  chocolate chips
1 cup butter
1 ½ cups flour
½ teaspoon baking powder

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Using a mixer, whip sugar, eggs and vanilla together. In a microwave safe bowl, melt butter and chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring every 30 seconds to prevent burning the chocolate. Fold whipped sugar mixture, half at a time, into melted chocolate mixture until no more streaks. Mix in flour and baking soda. Bake in greased 9-by-13 pan until toothpick comes out clean, about 40 minutes.
