BARRON, Wis. – Holstein enthusiasts and interested buyers gathered on a rainy Saturday afternoon in Barron, Wis., for the 2019 Barron Spring Classic. Opportunities to purchase high quality registered Holstein cows, calves and heifers presented themselves with a sale average of $1,100 across 103 live lots. Bidders also had the chance to purchase semen from older bulls such as Sunnylodge Linjet, Comestar Lee, Browndale Stardust and Boulet Charles.
    The top seller was lot 101, Our-Favorite Ava Rae-Red, a milking Awesome-Red daughter consigned by Todd Stanek of Fall Creek, Wis., selling for $2,800. Second high seller was lot 33 consigned by Dustin Tiffany of Spring Valley, Wis., Lindale Armani Medora. Medora, who won the junior 3-year-old class at the 2017 district 9 Holstein show, sold for $2,200.
