Deer hunting has come and gone already! Every year our shop turns into “deer camp” for our family and friends. Jeramie and both of our kids hunt and they are joined by Jeramie’s brother, my dad, and my nephew.  Our hunters harvested six deer this year so everyone was very happy.  My dad enjoys cooking a big lunch everyday for everyone.  This year, some of the things he made were pheasant, Sandhill crane, fish, venison and bratwursts.  Of course I had made up a bunch of goodies for them to snack on too because every hunter needs cinnamon rolls, muffins, chocolate chip cookies and banana bars to sustain them through the hunt.

This year was a lot different due to the pandemic we are all living through. Usually on the weekends while the hunters hunt my mom, sister and I get a jump start on our Christmas shopping and check out a couple of local craft fairs. But because of COVID-19 there were no craft fairs in our area and no girls shopping trip.

Jeramie did find time in between hunting to install eight new stall mattresses in the barn.  They are a different style than the other ones in our barn.  They are very light weight to move around and fit together like a puzzle, installation was a breeze and the cows seem to really like them.
