  • One step closer to finishing fall fieldwork
    Wednesday, September 30, 2020 4:58 PM

    Hannah here!

This past month I have been busy being back at college. Although I am living in Fargo, I am still very connected to my family’s farm. I talk to my family every day and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

  • When everything seems to be going right, something goes wrong
    Friday, September 18, 2020 1:41 PM
This past week has been busy with chopping corn silage but also one of reflection.  The corn has been excellent this year and we managed to fill both of our silos and a 200-foot silage bag with less then 40 acres worth of corn.  We only had a couple of small repairs that had to be made so overall this year went well.
  • Back to school and last minute summer projects
    Friday, August 28, 2020 2:41 PM
When it rains it pours and it seems to be raining every other day lately. We were finally able to sneak in enough dry time to get the remaining wheat combined and then a few days later we were able to get the straw round baled and hauled home to the farm.
  • The dog days of summer
    Friday, August 7, 2020 8:54 AM
We are rolling into the dog days of summer. Jeramie has harvesting wheat on the top of his mind. We recently purchased a different combine and are excited to see it work.
  • Enjoying the busy summer
    Monday, July 13, 2020 4:12 PM
Wow, has it been a busy last few weeks! From baling hay to celebrating the Fourth of July, we have not had much time to sit down. We spent one weekend cutting, baling, and wrapping hay.
  • Summer is finally here
    Friday, June 12, 2020 9:12 AM
Summer is finally here. Haying season is in full swing on our farm.  Our hay was ready about a week later than usual this year but we were happy with the amount of hay we got for first crop. We cut on Saturday and baled and wrapped everything on Sunday evening.
  • The cows are out and where did Clyde go?
    Friday, May 29, 2020 10:09 AM
We had finished eating and had just sat down to watch a movie and to relax before bed when all of a sudden Hannah yelled that she had just gotten a text that our cattle were out! It was about 10 p.m. and dark!
  • A special birthday
    Friday, May 15, 2020 1:12 PM
This past weekend we celebrated a birthday for a very special member of our family – our buckskin horse, Dollar, turned 30 years old! Most horses live to be in their 20s or early 30s so 30 is pretty old for a horse.
  • Busy with spring field work
    Friday, May 1, 2020 9:24 AM
Spring has finally arrived here on the farm and we have been busy trying to get as much done as we can. In the last few days we have cleaned our manure pit and dug the fields that we spread on. We planted wheat, alfalfa, and started planting our corn.  I am truly amazed at all that we’ve been able to accomplish in these few short days.
  • Home from college
    Friday, April 10, 2020 8:08 AM
First let me quickly introduce myself, I am 20 years old, and I am currently attending college at North Dakota State University. However, thanks to the pandemic I am back home on the farm. The change has felt minor but also has been an adjustment because of this social distancing and now having online classes. I am happy to be home with my family and my horses. I love the cows, but horses will always have my heart.
