        Two weeks have passed since our daughter, Anna, married Kevin Skadahl. Thinking back on the wedding, I am hoping to remember the images and sounds. But I know as time goes on, I will lose track of the little things and have to resort to photos or refer to this column to recollect.

        Where did July go? What a whirlwind of activities on the farm. Time seemed to disappear with chopping hay, harvesting wheat and baling, along with all of our other cow and calf chores.

        It is hard to believe we have been in our new barn for a year and a half. Milking with robots and having robots to scrape the manure along with the robots to push in feed has been amazing.

        This spring, we started and finished planting before we could get into the fields last year. The 2020 spring weather was sunny and warm.

    This year was going to be a crazy year even with COVID-19. We had plans for Anna’s graduation, the Dane County Dairy Breakfast and Anna’s wedding in August. Cleaning the machinery shed and the garage were always on the list of things to tackle.
