When do you help with chores? Mornings and nights almost every day.
What is your favorite chore and least favorite chore? I like milking cows because I am finally tall enough to reach. I like helping take care of the babies, especially when my show heifer had a baby. My least favorite chore is scrubbing the parlor walls.
What is your favorite animal on your farm? My big red and white cow, Remy, and my show calf, Mare.
What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be a vet so I get to be around cows. When I turn 14, I am going to be able to ride around with our vet. My dream is to work for Dr. Pol.
If you had a farm, describe what it would look like. I would have a set-up like ours, but with 500 cows. I would have three barns for milking cows and a barn for dry cows and for heifers. I would have pasture for the heifers and about 1,500 acres to grow corn and hay. I would have at least 300 heifers. My cows would be about half registered and would be a mix of Holstein and Red and White Holstein with a few Jerseys. I would bag all of my silage. All of my equipment would be John Deere. I would have a German shepherd and a great dane, and only one house cat, no barn cats.
What do you like about fall? I like working outside on the farm.
What is your favorite subject in school? Math is my favorite subject.
What is the best thing about growing up on a farm? You get to learn so many new things, and you get stronger and stay healthy. You aren’t cooped up in the house all day. The best part of farming is being with your family.
What is your favorite dairy treat? Colby-Jack cheese.
What is your favorite Thanksgiving food? My favorite Thanksgiving food is stuffing.
What do you like to do on your Thanksgiving break? I like to spend time with my family, decorate for Christmas, and that I just get to do what I love to do: farm.
