Twinkie Cake
5 Tbsp. flour
1 cup milk
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup Crisco
1/2 cup butter
1 tsp. vanilla
Bake the yellow cake as per instructions on the box in a 9x13 pan. For a moister cake, substitute milk for the water and use 3 eggs instead of 2.
Mix 5 Tbsp. flour and 1 cup milk in a saucepan. Boil until thick stirring constantly. Set aside and cool.
In a medium mixing bowl, beat sugar, salt, Crisco, butter and vanilla until fluffy. Add cooled milk mixture. Beat until fluffy. Cut cooled cake layer-wise. Put half of the filling in between and half on top. Store in covered container in refrigerator.
