Sour Cream Sugar Cookies
Recipe submitted by Jana Aakre, Hawley, Minn.
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon nutmeg
3/4 cup sour cream
Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs. Add vanilla and mix well. Add dry ingredients alternately with sour cream until smooth. Cover and chill two hours. Roll out one-fourth inch thick. Bake about eight minutes at 400 degrees until light brown on the bottom. May frost with your favorite frosting if you like.
