Sour Cream Coffee Cake

From the Carpenter Family kitchen in Darlington, Wis.

1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 carton sour cream (8 oz.)
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder

Cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time and mix well. Add vanilla. Mix flour, baking soda, salt, and baking powder in separate bowl. Alternately add sour cream and flour mixture.

Topping
1/3 cup sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Grease and flour tube pan. Put half the batter in pan and top with half of the topping. Add rest of batter and top with rest of the topping. Press the topping down lightly. Bake 375 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
