Pasture walk April 9 at Gays Mills

"Planning for a drought or surviving a flood?" That's the topic of the first Crawford County pasture walk of the year. Hosted by the Great River Graziers, the session will take place April 9, beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the board room of the community center, 16381, Hwy. 131, Gays Mills, Wis.
Crawford County Extension Agriculture Agent Vance Haugen is the main speaker. Gene Schriefer, Iowa County agriculture agent, will talk about grazing options for annuals and cover crops for grazing. Rhonda Gildersleeve, Extension grazing specialist, will provide guidelines on soil fertility options and variety selection for pasture and forage production.
Space is limited to the first people who register. A light lunch will follow the meeting.
For more information, e-mail Haugen at [email protected], or telephone the Crawford County Extension Office, 608-326-0223.
