Ninth grade
When do you do chores? I do chores before and after school, and on the weekends. I feed calves, feed cows and do other miscellaneous chores.
What's your favorite chore and least favorite chore? My favorite chore is bedding the hill outside for the dry cows. I like it because it's the fastest job to do. My least favorite chore is trying to find a short in the electric fence. It takes so long. Sometimes we walk around the whole fence - sometimes twice - before we find it.
What's your favorite animal on your farm? Our cat, Whiskers. She is a funny, orange and white cat. One time she jumped up on my aunt, flipped over her head and landed on her feet.
What's your favorite subject in school and why? I like chemistry because of the experiments.
What's something you've learned in school recently? We're learning about parabolas in Math.
What do you want to be when you grow up? I don't know yet. Maybe I'll be a chef. My brothers like it when I make eggs.
If you had a farm, describe what it would look like. I would like a dairy farm just like my family's except with newer equipment.
What's your favorite dairy treat? Vanilla ice cream or yogurt. I especially like cherry or raspberry yogurt.
When the weather is warm, what is your favorite outside activity or game? Kickball.

Sixth grade
When do you do chores? I do chores on the weekends and some week days after school. I rake stalls to keep them clean, scrape manure, get bales, haul sand and bring up cows.
What's your favorite chore and least favorite chore? My favorite chore is hauling sand because I get to be in the skidloader. My least favorite is shoveling out the parlor after milking. Usually there's a lot of manure and it takes a lot of muscle. I can't use the skidloader.
What's your favorite animal on your farm? There are about eight cows or heifers on the farm that I like. Two of them are named Alice and Short Round. They let me pet them.
What's your favorite subject in school and why? I like Math because I'm good at it. I get lots of extra credit.
What's something you've learned in school recently? I learned more about the state capitol because we just took a field trip there.
What do you want to be when you grow up? I don't know yet, but maybe I'll consider being a lawyer.
If you had a farm, describe what it would look like. I would have the same farm as my family.
What's your favorite dairy treat? Vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce.
When the weather is warm, what is your favorite outside activity or game? Football.

Fourth grade
When do you do chores? I don't do many chores, but when I do, it's on the weekends. I push up feed and put down new bedding.
What's your favorite chore and least favorite chore? I like it when I hold the gates when someone is scraping manure. I get to play with my favorite heifer, Alice. She always walks up to me. I don't like picking rock because it takes awhile and sometimes it's just me and my brothers out in the field.
What's your favorite animal on your farm? I like all the young calves because they come out of their hutches to see me.
What's your favorite subject in school and why? I like Math because it's easy for me.
What's something you've learned in school recently? In Math I am learning the stem and leaf chart.
What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be an author. I'm a fast typer and I'm good at creating stories.
If you had a farm, describe what it would look like. I don't want to have a farm.
What's your favorite dairy treat? I like marble cheese.
When the weather is warm, what is your favorite outside activity or game? I like to find sticks then hit weeds with the sticks.
