What activities are you involved in within FFA? Adopt-A-Senior, PALS (writing to elementary students), Poultry Career Development Event (CDE), Ag in the Classroom, showing at the county fair, SAE (Supervised Agricultural Experience) in beef production with Holstein steers, FFA fun nights, summer camps, and officer workshops.
What is your favorite FFA activity and why? My favorite FFA activity would have to be attending the National FFA Convention. I have gone the past two years, and each time has held many opportunities. It is really cool to see all of the FFA members from all over the country. At convention, we do many activities, such as touring the Indy 500, attending a concert, and visiting a career fair where we can explore some of the many job opportunities in agriculture.
What has been your best FFA experience? I think my best FFA experience would be having an SAE. It has allowed me to practice life skills by raising my Holstein steers to market weight for profit. I have learned a lot about the beef industry and about cattle in general. Not only have I learned about cattle, but also how to manage money and to record the transactions I made in my operation. I will need all of these skills to be successful in my future.
What are your future plans? I'm planning to attend college to pursue a career in either engineering or ag business. Also, I hope to own my own beef production operation.

Bethany Seifert, Reporter
Parents: Steven and Barbara Seifert
What activities are you involved in within FFA? I make cards/write letters for the WEE Deliver and Adopt-A-Senior programs. I am on the Dairy Evaluation CDE team. I show dairy cattle at the county and state fairs. I am also involved with the Safety Day Programs such as Farm Safety For Just Kids and the Safety Day Carnival. I also attend leadership camps.
What is your favorite FFA activity and why? My favorite is attending the State FFA Convention. It's my favorite because I love the atmosphere. It's filled with people who love FFA. I also love playing in the State FFA Band and competing in my CDE.
What has been your best FFA experience? My best FFA experience was attending the Timberland Leadership Camp this past summer with two other chapters. I had a lot of fun, learned more about FFA, and met new people. I made a lot of new friends who will probably be lifelong friends; I also met two state officers.
What are your future plans? I am uncertain of my future plans right now, as I am only a sophomore. I plan to go to college when I graduate high school, but am uncertain what I will major in.

Katelyn Johnson, Historian
Parents: Lee and Judy Johnson
What activities are you involved in within FFA? Adopt-A-Senior, Safety in the Classroom, PALS, Miracle of Birth Center, dairy foods team, dairy exhibitor, and Farm Safety Just For Kids.
What is your favorite FFA activity and why? My favorite is being on the dairy foods team because I learn more about the dairy industry and learn the difference in the cheeses.
What has been your best FFA experience? My best FFA experience has been going to National Convention because I got to see kids from all around the country join in one spot for the same thing.
What are your future plans? I plan on attending South Dakota State University to major in either animal science or dairy science.

Emily Kjelshus, Parliamentarian

What activities are you involved in within FFA? Dairy Evaluation CDE team, officer position, show dairy at state fair and go to all the activities I can.
What is your favorite FFA activity and why? Going to camps, especially the camps that are a couple of days so I really get to know the people I meet.
What has been your best FFA experience? I am able to speak in front of people without getting nervous. I never liked meeting new people, and now I do all the time.
What are your future plans? Going to school for ag ed or early childhood education.
