Caramel Chocolate Layer Bars
1 box German Chocolate Cake Mix
3/4 cup butter, softened
2/3 cup evaporated milk
6 oz. chocolate chips
1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
Melt caramels in 1/3 cup of milk in the microwave. Mix cake mix, butter, nuts and the other 1/3 cup of milk. Mix well. Spread half of the mixture in a 9x13 greased pan. Bake at 350 degrees for six minutes. Spread caramel mixture over the crust. Sprinkle chocolate chips over caramel. Crumble remaining cake mixture over the top of everything and bake for 18 to 20 minutes. Cool before cutting.
