Breakfast Loaf
Recipe submitted by Pam Sellner, Manchester, Iowa
1 cup milk
3 eggs
4 cups flour
1 package yeast
1/4 cup warm water
3 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3 Tbsp. butter
Sugar, cinnamon
Heat butter and milk together, cool. Add eggs, beat well. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add sugar, salt and vanilla to milk mixture. Stir in yeast and flour. Let rise until doubled. (Can be refrigerated.) Divide dough in half and roll out each piece and spread with butter, sprinkle sugar and cinnamon. Then roll up and make a horseshoe shape. Rise for 30 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until browned. Frost with powdered sugar icing. Makes two loaves.
